Focus:  Programming

Class Response:   Students were very attentive to the robots without prompting. It was terrific.

Our four day introduction to coding with the Spheros was set up like this:

The first day I spent a block training my 11 interns. The next three days were open to anyone during our block five Guided Studies to come in and pair up with an intern who would guide them through set up and get them started. The attached sheet below is a list of the challenges we gave them; since it was right before Christmas I used a giant cookie jar as a reward system as they completed each task. The first day 15 students came, the second day 13 came and the third day 14 came (these were in addition to my 11 interns who were on hand to help and tutor). Several came back during the rest of the day during their study halls to continue working their way through the three different mazes we had set up. Two students proceeded to trying to program a dance routine with their robots.
